Friday Night

It is Friday night and it feels great to unwind. Long week of being busy in the greenhouse and working on finishing up other odds and ends in every corner of the house. I have too many projects started in the house. This week I also worked on getting the tiller tire fixed but have not gotten that finished yet. I need to sand the rim and prime that and then maybe I can get a good bead.

Tyson and his friend Mario came to visit this weekend. It was home leave at Maplewood Academy this weekend. They got to town around 11:30 so we met up for lunch. They only had shorts and t-shirts on so they were freezing. It was only about 30 degrees here today. There is a forecast for snow in many of the surrounding areas. Not here though.

Grandma and Grandpa Kahler are coming down tomorrow and will spend the night. Tyson asked them to come down, so they are. I had grandpa pick up some supplies from Lowes in Bismarck. They had they rest of the baffles and housings I needed to have enough lights for the living room recessed lights I will be putting in.(I will post some shots of that when we get into it.)

Hillcrest school students are putting on the church service tomorrow, so that will be nice. Afterwards there is potluck lunch. We will be going to that. Susie is making special-K loaf right now and carmel rolls for the morning. Her cooking abilities are rising rapidly.

It is great to have some family coming to visit this weekend. It makes the house seem fuller and so far the boys are having fun with Tyson and Mario. They are in wrestling heaven....bis spater...

De-thatching the Lawn

The high temperature today was about 78 degrees. It was very windy so really was not nice until about 6:00pm. The wind had died down and was very pleasant outside. We needed to dethatch the lawn so we got the lawnmower fired up. Everything is so brown outside yet, need some rain. Rain is in the forecast for tomorrow. So maybe things will start to green up real soon. Here is a shot of Leyton and I with our mowers.

Family from Deutschland

This summer is going to be a very busy summer for Susie, the boys and I. We are hoping to do some camping, fishing and just try to get away as much as we can. But we got some exciting news recently!!!.....Over the past few weeks I have been in correspondence with family I met in Sept '07 while in Germany. They have excitedly been making plans to come the USA this summer. I know Judith has been writing Kenny, Kimber, and the Werners(from Florida). Her and Robert have booked there tickets - Judith arriving the 16th of June and Robert on the 26th of June. I thought I would post a photo of Judith and Robert that I took in Sept.

Morning of April 11th

Here is what I woke up to this morning. Not really what anyone has in mind for April. Saturday is supposed to be 50 degrees so most of this snow will be gone. And Tuesday of next week the high is 68 degrees. I shot a couple pictures. I have tomatoes, marigolds, cosmos, basil, and petunias all started. They are all cozy warm in the greenhouse....

Newest Home Project(bedroom) - After pics

Here are a few pics of the painted bedroom. We had a hard time getting the right color red. The tanish color is real nice. Not what we had originally wanted but the gallon was an ooops color and was $4. The red is quite dark but still very nice. The same brand of paint for the red was $45. I really like the $4 paint. We still need to finish painting the registers white. And then the closet...that may have to wait a for a while.

We started yet another project today in our home - fixing up, texturing, and painting our bedroom! It is a well needed update, as you can see.

Brannen Eating Green Beans - February 2008

Brannen is 6 months old here - eating his first real food (other than baby cereal). I'd say not a big fan of the green beans...

Leyton with markers - January 2006

I got this video to post. It is old but I am sure no one else has seen it. Leyton is almost a year and a half old here, and was just starting to talk.

A few of the Boys

Can't get these pictures to line up normal.

Friday Evening

Ahh =) Friday Evening. After I got off work today we went to Dairy Queen and had supper. Then we went to Walmart and got a few things. When we came home we cleaned up out back. We had so much junk laying around. After we got it all cleaned up we went and got some scrap lumber from a place by the Pepsi bottling plant. Progress Industries. They make crates and pallets so a lot of free wood from the dumpster. Easy to get and they don't care. Cost them less to dump.

Our campfire tonight was so nice. But the dry wood burns real fast and hotttt. We went for a short walk afterwards and it is still very nice out. Tomorrow night the forecast is for 3-5 inches of snow. Hard to imagine when today was in the upper 50's maybe even got into the 60's. Not sure.

We got the house pretty clean and now it is time to relax. Sabbath is here. We will try to post a few pictures tonight. Here is one for Grandma...and Grandpa, Ness and Savannah.
